Blueberry Lactation Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tbsp. cashews
  • 1 tbsp. flax meal
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. quick oats
  • 1 tsp. debittered brewer’s yeast
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk (or your milk of choice)
  • 1 stevia sweetener packet

This is a very simple lactation smoothie to make. Just put all the ingredients together in a blender. Blend well for about a couple of minutes or until the consistency is perfect. As you may already know bananas and blueberries are naturally sweet so it’s up to you to add the sweetener package, depending on your sweetness preference.

Banana Oatmeal Lactation Smoothie

Banana Oatmeal Lactation Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana, broken into thirds
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Brewer’s Yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp maple syrup (plus more to taste)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Directions: Add all of the ingredients to the blender, starting with the milk. Cover and blend on high until smooth, stopping and scraping the sides as needed. (About 30 seconds.) Taste and add additional maple syrup if desired.

While you might not expect it, cooked oatmeal lends a thick, creamy texture to this banana and maple-sweetened smoothie. Oats, nut butter, and brewer’s yeast are believed to boost milk supply, making this a perfect snack for nursing moms.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 1/2 banana, frozen
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 tsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter

Directions: First add the milk in the blender followed by the rest of the ingredients. Cover and blend on high until smooth. Stop and scrape the sides as needed. (About 30 seconds.)

Strawberry Banana Lactation Smoothie

Strawberry Banana Lactation Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oats old fashioned
  • 1 banana
  • 8 strawberries frozen
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp brewer’s yeast
  • 1 tsp flax seed ground

Directions: 

Put oats into blender and process until the oats are well ground.

Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.

You can switch the frozen strawberries and a fresh banana for fresh strawberries and a frozen banana. If both fruits are frozen, you may need to add more milk, depending on how thick you like your smoothies.
